The International Journal of Climate Governance Research (IJCGR) employs a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process to ensure the quality, originality, validity, and scholarly contribution of all published articles. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process.

The peer-review process consists of the following stages:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial evaluation by the Editorial Team to determine its suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, and adherence to publication ethics standards. Manuscripts may also be screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software.

  1. Assignment to Reviewers

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area.

  1. Double-Blind Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including:

• Originality and significance of the research

• Relevance to the journal’s scope

• Methodological rigor and validity

• Quality of analysis and interpretation

• Clarity of presentation and organization

• Contribution to theory, policy, and practice

Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to assist authors in improving their manuscripts.

  1. Reviewer Recommendations

Based on the evaluation, reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions:

• Accept without revision

• Accept with minor revisions

• Accept with major revisions

• Reject

  1. Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor considers the reviewers’ comments and recommendations before making a final decision. The editorial decision may differ from reviewer recommendations when justified by the overall evaluation of the manuscript.

  1. Revision Process

Authors receiving revision requests are expected to revise their manuscripts and submit a detailed response to reviewers’ comments within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

  1. Final Decision and Publication

After the manuscript has successfully satisfied all review requirements, the editorial team makes the final acceptance decision. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, layout editing, and publication.

IJCGR is committed to maintaining a fair, objective, confidential, and timely review process. All reviewers are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism throughout the review process.
